A documentary portrait of the frontman of Magazzeno, a Milan power trio. He is a many-sided man: a day job, a local singer, and "Huge", a costumed stage persona. The film follows him between these lives.
It is built from three lines that are woven together: an interview shot at his home in Milan, a concert shot in Misano Adriatico, and archive material from his earlier public appearances. The interview is split into two parts, Normal Life and Magazzeno, each introduced by question cards in English. The concert line runs from the dressing-room transformation through the show to the comedown.
The edit is led by the music. It sits at the edges of the film and takes over at the climax, where the answer "the truest version of me" cuts straight to the stage. Shot on two cameras with one lavalier microphone, and edited in DaVinci Resolve. Made at NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan) as the final project for Linear Audiovisuals.
